Description

A quick and easy veggie pizza appetizer featuring a crescent roll crust topped with a creamy herb spread and fresh assorted vegetables. Perfect for parties or light snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 8 ounces refrigerated crescent rolls

Spread

  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened (reduced-fat or full fat)
  • ½ cup sour cream (light or full fat)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping

  • 2 cups chopped assorted veggies (broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, green onion, cucumber)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the crescent roll crust.
  2. Prepare the Spread: In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, softened cream cheese, fresh dill, and fresh chives. Stir until well combined, then transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  3. Prepare the Crust: Remove the crescent rolls from the can and carefully unroll onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Aim to keep it as one large sheet by pinching together any seams that separate. If using full sheet crescent dough, this step can be skipped.
  4. Bake the Crust: Bake the crescent roll sheet in the preheated oven for 6 to 7 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let it cool completely.
  5. Assemble the Pizza: Once the crust is cooled, spread the chilled cream cheese and herb mixture evenly over the surface.
  6. Add Veggie Toppings: Top the spread with the chopped assorted fresh veggies, and add additional chives if desired for extra flavor.
  7. Cut and Serve: Use a pizza cutter or a large knife to cut the veggie pizza into appetizer-sized pieces. Serve immediately for best texture and freshness.

Notes

  • Substitute 1 to 2 tablespoons of ranch dip mix or seasoning mix in place of fresh herbs for a different flavor profile.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; note that the crust may become soggy from the cream cheese mixture.
  • This recipe is not recommended for freezing as the texture will degrade.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free crescent roll dough alternatives if available.
