Description

Taco Bites are the perfect party appetizer that combines flavorful seasoned taco meat with fresh toppings on crispy scoop chips. These bite-sized treats are easy to assemble and great for entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Taco Meat Filling

  • 1 lbs. taco meat (prepared as per Crunch Wraps recipe)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 25 mini cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 25 scoop tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Taco Meat: Use the Crunch Wraps recipe to make the taco meat filling. Cook and season the meat thoroughly to infuse it with taco flavors.
  2. Prepare the Toppings: Shred the iceberg lettuce and cheddar cheese. Slice the mini cherry tomatoes in half to create bite-sized garnishes.
  3. Prepare the Sour Cream Dispenser: Put the sour cream into a sandwich bag and cut a small hole off one corner to use as a piping bag for easy application.
  4. Assemble Taco Bites: Lay out scoop tortilla chips on a large platter. Add about ½ teaspoon of the seasoned taco meat into each chip.
  5. Add Sour Cream and Toppings: Pipe sour cream over the meat in each chip using the prepared sandwich bag. Sprinkle shredded lettuce over the top, then add a little shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Finish with Tomatoes: Place one half of a mini cherry tomato on top of each bite to complete the presentation and add a fresh burst of flavor.

Notes

  • Use scoop-shaped chips for easy filling and handling.
  • If you prefer, substitute iceberg lettuce with shredded romaine or green cabbage for added crunch.
  • For extra spice, add a dash of hot sauce or chopped jalapeños to the taco meat.
  • The sour cream can be swapped with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • Prepare the taco meat in advance to save time when assembling the bites.
