Description

This refreshing Strawberry Daiquiri recipe blends fresh and frozen strawberries with rum, simple syrup, and lime juice to create a smooth, fruity cocktail perfect for warm days or festive gatherings. With easy steps and the option to make it nonalcoholic, it’s a versatile drink that’s both vibrant and delicious.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Strawberries

  • 1 pound strawberries

Liquids

  • 4 ounces rum (white rum, coconut rum, spiced rum, or dark rum)
  • 3 ounces simple syrup
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 4 ounces water (optional, for nonalcoholic version)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Remove the stems from the strawberries and slice them in half. Freeze half of the berries (8 ounces) for at least 2 hours until solid.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Once the berries are frozen, add both fresh strawberries and frozen strawberries to the jar of a high-speed blender. Pour in the rum, simple syrup, and lime juice. Blend the mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
  3. Serve and Garnish: Pour the smoothie-like cocktail into glasses and garnish with an extra strawberry and/or a slice of lime for an appealing presentation.
  4. Nonalcoholic Option: To make a nonalcoholic version, omit the rum and replace it with 4 ounces of water before blending.

Notes

  • If you don’t want to wait for berries to freeze, use 4 ounces of frozen strawberries and 4 ounces of fresh strawberries instead.
  • Adjust the amount of rum to taste; if using less rum, you might need to add some water depending on your blender’s consistency preference.
  • Simple syrup sweetness can be adjusted based on your taste and the natural sweetness of the strawberries.
  • Any type of rum works well, with white or coconut rum giving a lighter flavor, while spiced or dark rum adds richness.
