Description

These Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Wonton Bites are irresistibly crispy and bursting with sweet, creamy cheesecake and fresh strawberry flavor. Perfect as a fun appetizer or dessert, they are quick to prepare and delightfully indulgent.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • Fresh strawberries, diced (optional)

Wontons & Frying

  • 2024 wonton wrappers
  • Water, for sealing the edges
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For Serving

  • Whipped cream
  • Extra strawberry jam or sauce
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Add a small dollop of strawberry jam to the center of each portion, or mix diced strawberries into the filling for texture and flavor.
  2. Assemble Wontons: Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake filling into the center. Moisten edges with water, fold into a triangle or envelope shape, and press firmly to seal, removing air bubbles.
  3. Heat Oil: In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry Wontons: Fry the wontons in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking.
  5. Drain and Serve: Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with whipped cream, extra strawberry jam or sauce, and fresh strawberry slices.

Notes

  • Do not overfill the wontons to prevent bursting during frying.
  • Adjust powdered sugar in the filling to reach your desired sweetness.
  • Wontons can be assembled ahead and frozen; fry them directly from frozen when ready to serve for best results.
