Description

Salami Pinwheels are a simple and delicious appetizer featuring layers of savory salami, creamy cheese, and tangy banana peppers rolled into bite-sized spirals. Perfect for parties, snacks, or easy entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 24 slices salami
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup banana peppers, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Arrange Salami: Lay out salami on a cutting board in a flat layer, creating 3 rows of eight slices overlapping slightly.
  2. Spread Cream Cheese: Spread half of the softened cream cheese evenly over the layered salami slices.
  3. Add Banana Peppers: Sprinkle half of the finely chopped banana peppers evenly on top of the cream cheese layer.
  4. Roll the Log: Tightly roll the salami, cream cheese, and banana pepper layers into a log shape and wrap it securely in plastic wrap.
  5. Repeat Process: Repeat steps 1–4 using the remaining salami, cream cheese, and banana peppers to form a second log.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate both wrapped logs for at least one hour to firm up and meld flavors.
  7. Slice and Serve: Remove the logs from the refrigerator, unwrap, and slice into pinwheels about 1/2 inch thick, then serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a spicier twist, substitute banana peppers with jalapeños or pepperoncini.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easy spreading and even coverage.
  • These pinwheels can be prepared a day ahead and stored wrapped in the refrigerator.
  • Use a sharp knife to get clean slices without squashing the pinwheels.
  • Serve with toothpicks for easy party fare.
