Description

Delightful and easy-to-make Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites perfect for appetizers or party snacks, combining savory prosciutto, fresh basil, and creamy mozzarella with a touch of balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce package sliced prosciutto, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 20 marinated mozzarella balls (12 ounce container)
  • 20 leaves fresh basil
  • Balsamic glaze, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prep the Ingredients: Cut the prosciutto slices in half lengthwise. Drain the mozzarella balls in a colander, then place them over a double layer of paper towels and pat dry to remove excess moisture.
  2. Assemble the Bites: Lay a halved slice of prosciutto on a cutting board. Place a basil leaf (folded if large) at one end, then place a mozzarella ball on top of the basil leaf.
  3. Wrap and Secure: Roll the prosciutto around the basil and mozzarella ball tightly, then insert a wooden cocktail pick through the center to secure the bite together.
  4. Add Balsamic Glaze: Just before serving, drizzle each prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella bite with a little balsamic glaze to add a touch of sweetness and tang.

Notes

  • Use paper towels to dry the mozzarella balls thoroughly to prevent soggy bites.
  • If fresh basil leaves are large, folding them helps them fit better inside the prosciutto wrap.
  • Balsamic glaze can be substituted with a balsamic reduction or serve on the side for dipping.
  • For a saltier bite, choose a saltier prosciutto, or rinse lightly if you prefer less salt.
  • Keep the bites chilled until serving for best texture and flavor.
