Ingredients

Units Scale

Meat and Dairy

  • 6-8 Slices Bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 2 cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Produce

  • 1 Small Onion, diced
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves, minced

Pantry

  • 1 tbsp Kinders Caramelized Onion Burger Seasoning or any favorite burger seasoning
  • 2 tsps Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 tbsp Dill Pickle Relish
  • 1 tsp Yellow or Dijon Mustard
  • 8 oz Can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup Uncooked Long Grain White Rice (Jasmine rice used)
  • 2 1/4 cups Beef Broth

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon: In a large pot, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pot and set aside, leaving about 1 teaspoon of bacon grease in the pot.
  2. Brown the beef and aromatics: Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic to the pot with the bacon grease. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is tender, stirring occasionally. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add seasoning and sauces: Stir in the burger seasoning and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  4. Add tomato paste: Mix in the tomato paste and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
  5. Incorporate condiments and tomato sauce: Stir in the dill pickle relish, mustard, and canned tomato sauce until well combined.
  6. Add rice and broth: Pour in the uncooked rice and beef broth. Stir to combine everything evenly. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  7. Simmer the rice: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot tightly, and let it simmer for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the liquid.
  8. Finish with cheese and bacon: Remove the pot from heat. Stir in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese and the reserved crispy bacon. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, cover, and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes to melt the cheese fully.
  9. Serve and enjoy: Serve the bacon cheeseburger rice hot, spooned into bowls or plates. Enjoy the gooey, flavorful comfort food all in one pot.
