- Cook potatoes: Add the cleaned and halved small red potatoes to the boiling water. Cook for 12 minutes or until just barely fork tender.
- Add corn and sausage: Add the cut corn pieces and smoked sausage slices to the boiling water. Cook for 6 minutes.
- Cook shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the boiling water. Cook for 3 minutes or until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Drain and transfer: Drain the water from the pot and place the shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes on a large baking sheet.
- Prepare butter sauce: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Add salt, black pepper, and 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley. Whisk to combine.
- Toss with butter: Pour half of the butter mixture over the shrimp boil mixture and stir well to coat everything evenly. Reserve remaining butter for serving.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with additional chopped parsley and lemon wedges. Sprinkle more seafood seasoning to taste if desired. Serve immediately with the reserved butter mixture on the side.
Notes
- Use fresh jumbo shrimp for best flavor, but frozen shrimp can be used if thawed properly.
- Adjust seafood seasoning amount according to your spice preference.
- If you don’t have smoked sausage, andouille or kielbasa are great substitutes.
- Serve with crusty bread or crackers to soak up the flavorful butter sauce.
- For easier cleanup, line the baking sheet with foil before placing the boil mixture on it.
- Adding lemons to the boiling water infuses a subtle citrus flavor into the seafood and vegetables.
