Description

Halloween Bark is a festive and fun no-bake treat featuring a rich semi-sweet chocolate base swirled with caramel and topped with colorful candy corn, pretzels, Reese’s, M&M’s, candy eyeballs, and optional Halloween sprinkles. Perfect for holiday parties or a spooky snack, this easy recipe combines sweet, salty, and crunchy textures in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 3¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tbsp caramel syrup

Toppings

  • ½ cup candy corn
  • ¼ cup pretzels, roughly chopped or left whole
  • ½ cup Reese’s, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup M&M’s
  • 2 tbsp candy eyeballs
  • Halloween sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside to make removal of bark easy after chilling.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a double boiler or microwave heated in 20 to 30 second increments, stirring thoroughly between each to avoid burning, until smooth.
  3. Spread Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the lined sheet pan and spread it evenly all the way to the edges with a spatula.
  4. Add Caramel: Drizzle the caramel syrup evenly over the melted chocolate for a sweet, gooey contrast.
  5. Sprinkle Toppings: Generously sprinkle the candy corn, pretzels, chopped Reese’s, M&M’s, candy eyeballs, and optional Halloween sprinkles evenly over the chocolate and caramel layer.
  6. Chill: Place the sheet pan in the refrigerator for one hour or until the chocolate has completely hardened.
  7. Remove and Cut: Carefully lift the bark out of the pan by the parchment paper edges and gently peel off the parchment paper from the back. Cut the bark into irregular pieces with a sharp knife.
  8. Serve: Serve the Halloween bark chilled for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • For best results, use good quality semi-sweet chocolate chips for a smooth melt and rich flavor.
  • If you don’t have caramel syrup, you can melt caramel candies with a little cream to drizzle instead.
  • Use parchment paper with overhanging edges to easily lift the bark out of the pan after chilling.
  • Customize toppings with your favorite candies or nuts to personalize your Halloween bark.
  • Store leftover bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and crunchy.
