Cookie Dough
- 1 (15.25 ounce) box chocolate cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil

- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup crushed Oreos (about 9 whole cookies)
- 18 gummy worms
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
- Make Dough: In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, and canola oil. Mix until a soft sticky dough forms that holds together well.
- Form Cookies: Use a medium cookie scoop to drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
- Bake Cookies: Bake the cookies for 12 minutes or until the edges are set. Avoid overbaking to keep them soft.
- Cool Cookies: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare Ganache: Place chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl. Pour heavy cream over them and microwave for 45 seconds. Let rest for 1 minute, then whisk until smooth and glossy ganache forms.
- Decorate Cookies: Once cookies are cool, spread about 1 tablespoon of ganache over each cookie. Sprinkle crushed Oreos on top and gently press gummy worms into the ganache while it’s still wet.
- Set Ganache: Let the ganache set completely before serving to ensure toppings adhere well and the presentation stays intact.

- For firmer ganache or warm climates, refrigerate cookies up to one week; bring to room temperature before serving.
- To freeze, place cookies on a baking sheet to freeze solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag or container; freeze up to 3 months and thaw at room temperature before serving—note gummy worms’ texture will slightly change.
- If using a smaller 13.25 ounce cake mix box, reduce oil to 1/3 cup to maintain proper dough consistency.
