Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Bombs
- 1 can (8-count) Southern Homestyle buttermilk biscuits, not flaky
- 1 cup (257 g) pizza sauce, divided
- ½ cup (69 g) mini pepperoni slices, divided
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into 16 equal-sized cubes, divided
Garlic Butter
- ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
- ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a 12-inch, oven-safe skillet with nonstick spray. Alternatively, you can use a greased baking dish, though cooking time may vary.
- Prepare Biscuits: Remove the biscuits from the can and place them on a clean work surface. Using a rolling pin, flatten each biscuit to about ⅛-inch thickness to make them easier to fill and fold.
- Add Fillings: Top each flattened biscuit with 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce, 1 tablespoon of mini pepperoni slices, and 2 cubes of mozzarella cheese evenly distributed.
- Form Pizza Bombs: Fold the edges of each biscuit together, pinching tightly to seal with no holes or gaps. Place each pizza bomb seam side down into the prepared skillet. Repeat for all bombs.
- Bake: Bake the pizza bombs in the preheated oven for 22 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: While baking, in a small bowl mix together the melted butter, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and grated parmesan cheese.
- Brush Garlic Butter: After removing the pizza bombs from the oven, brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each pizza bomb for a flavorful finish.
- Serve: Serve the pizza bombs warm with the remaining pizza sauce for dipping. Enjoy your delicious pizza bombs!
Notes
- You can bake pizza bombs in a greased baking dish if a skillet is unavailable, but watch the cooking time closely.
- To make Pizza Bombs in an air fryer, place them in a single layer in the basket and air fry at 350°F for 12 minutes until golden brown. Brush with garlic butter after cooking.
- Use mini pepperoni slices for easier filling and even distribution inside the bombs.
- Ensure the biscuit edges are sealed tightly to prevent cheese and sauce from leaking during baking.
- For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning inside the filling or sprinkle some on top before baking.
